[REALISTICALLY], WHERE YOUR DREAMS STAND
January 8th, 2014
Have you ever took the time to see where your dreams stand on your "To-Do" list, or whether it's listed at all? With only one life to live I believe this is one of the most important things in our lives to take a look at. I decided to make a short list of common personalities - each personality representing a person's activity and/or mentality in their pursuit of their desires. Read each personality and see where you stand. You may or may not learn something about your self.
PERSONALITY 1
I'm a person fed up with the daily hardships of my current career. I know if I left my job and followed my dreams, I'd be happier. But dreams don't pay bills. I spend a lot of my time just talking about what I want to do, and no time doing what I want to do. I don't have the courage to step outside of my comfort zone. Life was easy following the typical checklist. When the time is right, I will try and follow my dreams.
PERSONALITY 2
I'm a person willing to take the unpopular path and travel the road that's less secure and has more bumps on the way. I'm willing to suffer for what I want because I'm tired of suffering for what I don't. I believe our system is flawed and that it doesn't teach us how to be leaders and/or decision makers, but it teaches us how to be employees and/or how to take orders. I chose not to play the victim, but to put myself in a position to follow my dreams.
PERSONALITY 3
I'm a person simply trying to survive. Dreams are unrealistic, but I know if I trade my time for money, my paycheck will always be there. The reality is the bills I have to pay. The thought of doing something you love doing is definitely attractive, but I'm not going to give up this steady income and my employee benefits for something like childish dreams that most likely will not succeed. My advice to everyone is, "Don't quit your day job!" That would be foolish.
WHO ARE YOU?
When it comes down to it, our actions follow our belief system. Our thoughts and feelings are both hands on the steering wheel, on this road of life. Analyzing the three personalities above, it's easy to understand how each character's beliefs drive their actions. Your dreams stand where your beliefs do.
What personality BEST represents you? Do any of these fit you? If not, feel free to share where your dreams stand in the comments below. All feedback is appreciated!
